Despite suffering an injured shin before the Olympics, Lindsey Vonn (perhaps our new fav Linds!) kicked some serious butt on the slopes in Vancouver yesterday, becoming the first American woman to win a gold medal in the downhill.

Oh yeah, and anyone who was giving her flack for her "controversial" Sports Illustrated cover last week can pretty much shut up now!

After spending her birthday shopping and lunching at the Ivy with Doug, Paris Hilton met up with the rest of her family at Dan Tana's for dinner last night. When asked what her birthday wish was, Paris replied, "I already have my wish." Yup, she's talking about Doug, how sweet! After dinner with the fam, the real party took place at the Tea Room in Hollywood, and only X17 got a sneak peek at Paris' birthday cake!

The folks at the Great Dane Baking Company in Long Beach designed the sugary creation, and they tell X17online that it was Doug who called in to order the gigantic custom pink cupcake, and it was a total surprise for Paris. Aww!

Mischa Barton returned to Byron and Tracey yesterday afternoon, and when she emerged from the salon, she was sporting a seriously cute retro 'do! While I'm still getting used to the color, I will say this - I think Mischa is one of a few actresses in this town who can pull off both dark and light hues when it comes to haircolor, so I think she rocks it quite well.

And the rest of her outfit? Call me crazy but I dig it!

After debuting her newly shorn locks at the Brit Awards the other night, we caught Mel B walking through LAX, shocking bystanders with her appropriately scary new 'do. Hey, not all Americans tuned in the the UK Awards show the other night, so this was news to them! Plus how often do you see a girl walking around LA with a half shaved head? I mean, aside from Britney, Rihanna and Cassie!

Justin Timberlake escorted girlfriend Jessica Biel to his William Rast fashion show in New York last night, where the couple appeared to still be very much in love.

Of course, appearances meant everything to Justin last night. He apparently forced all staff members working on his William Rast show to sign a gag order so that no gossip about JT himself could get out. Reportedly, three-quarters of the venue were closed off for him, causing models and stylists to work within a very small area.

And even though the quarters were cramped, the collection, which Timberlake said was inspired by "bohemian", "nomadic" "biker culture," was deemed a success.

To celebrate, Justin and his lady love headed to New York eaterie Tortilla Flats with friends and family, including Justin's mom, who said Jessica is "one of us!"

"She's amazing. She's so down-to-earth and her family is great," his mom Lynn told People. "They're always trying to out 'special' each other," the proud mama continued. "They're pretty openly affectionate."

Considering Lynn was thought to be the reason behind Justin and Cameron's split, having the approval of mom is of the utmost importance for Jessica! Think we'll be hearing synthesized wedding bells soon?

Gia, the latest reject of The Bachelor's Jake Pavelka, revealed to Ellen Degeneres that while watching the show Monday night when Jake sent her packing, "I was like hysterical in my hotel room. I was like oh my, that really hurt."

The interview which airs today doesn't directly address rumors that Gia had a boyfriend the entire time she was on the show (as well as after), but Gia does make a point of telling Ellen, "I'm actually going to have my first date next week...my first date in a while."

As far as who Jake will finally end up with, Gia weighs in on the woman everyone loves to hate: Vienna. "I like [Vienna] a lot," Gia says. "I think she is a really good person."

Seems like Jake agrees!

Lindsay Lohan has a progress report at the Beverly Hills Courthouse this morning, but X17online has confirmed with her attorney's office that the starlet will not be present at the hearing.

Since Lindsay has been in compliance with her alcohol education classes and the terms of her probation, she isn't required to show up, though her attorney Shawn Chapman Holley will be there.

As you may recall, Lindsay was put on probation following her second DUI in 2007, and after a minor misunderstanding last year (Lindsay missed a few alcohol education classes, oops!) the judge extended her probation for another year and ordered that the actress get court approval anytime she left LA for work.

Rumor has it Michael Lohan will attend the hearing and try to convince the judges that his daughter is out of control, so it should be very interesting to see what happens today!

Last night we spotted the R&B hottie out and about in Beverly Hills, and though the starlet has dyed a streak of her hair, we wish she'd finish the job and darken the rest! And a bowl cut? Girl please - that was a boy's haircut that went out of style in the 90s!
