Yesterday afternoon we caught Katie Holmes shopping in Beverly Hills, and it looks like she was able to ditch Suri and Tom to finish up some last minute holiday shopping. Or perhaps she was finalizing her own X-mas wishlist? She was at Hermes after all! Ugh, not like she needs another $10,000 handbag...

A source tells X17online that Tiger Woods' luxury yacht "Privacy" is still docked at the Old Port Cove Marina in Palm Beach, Florida and that the golfer is still in the south FL town, perhaps visiting with his former fling Rachel Uchitel, who has been spotted in the coastal city.

So lemme get this straight ... Tiger's kicked out of his house by his wife Elin Nordegren, after she and the rest of the world learn of his wild infidelities. Various girls come forward and claim past relationships with Woods, some sell their stories, while Rachel keeps her mouth closed for a reported cool million or two from Tiger, negotiated by uber-attorney Gloria Allred. And NOW, the shamed golfer is still hooking up with the woman to whom he just wrote a massive check to keep quiet???!!!

Boy must be desperate! I mean, is he such damaged goods he couldn't find a new woman to f*#k around with?! L-O-S-E-R! And Rachel too ...

Funeral plans for actress Brittany Murphy, who died at the age of 32 on Monday at her LA home of yet-undisclosed causes, are taking shape.

Reports say a private service will be held tomorrow at Forest Lawn cemetery, where Michael Jackson is buried, and that the body will be interred at that time. In fact, the body has already been transferred to the cemetery, according to reports.

Meanwhile, other sources say a more public memorial service will be held after the new year.

Just in time for Christmas! What sad news to hear of such a long-time couple breaking up just before the holidays, especially when the couple has two children together!

Tim Robbins and Susan Sarandon have been together since 1988 when they met on the set of Bull Durham. Sarandon, 63, and Robbins, 51, never married but have two sons.

Publicist Teal Cannady said in a statement that the two actually separated over the summer after 23 years together. She did not give any further details as to the reason for the breakup.

The "French Elvis" as we call him, Johnny Hallyday, 66, was released from Cedars Sinai today after undergoing surgery to repair reportedly faulty surgery done in france on the singer's back.

Hallyday, nee Jean-Philippe Smet, has started legal proceedings against the French doctor who operated on the singer for a herniated disc. His attorneys submitted a letter to a French judge stating Hallyday was "close to death."

The singer will spend the holidays with his family in Los Angeles. His publicist said in a statement: "The doctors judged that Johnny Hallyday's current state of health has improved and justifies a return home to his family while he continues to receive the medical treatment he needs."

When we heard that Britney Spears' conservatorship was being extended through 2010, we were very surprised and curious to learn the reason(s) behind it.

Though the pop princess has made tremendous progress over the past few years, you can't help but feel sorry for her, knowing that she's constantly being watched and unable to live the same kind of life as any other 28-year-old woman. So what made Judge Goetz decide to hold off on giving Britney the freedom to do whatever she wants? Here are a few possibly theories:

FOR HER BOYS

It's no secret that Britney and ex-husband Kevin Federline's custody battle was nearly as epic as the Trojan War, but another driving factor behind the conservatorship could be the fact that Britney's current custody arrangement would be compromised if the c-ship ended. Britney and K-Fed's joint custody of Sean Preston and Jayden James runs through 2009, and it's very likely that the continuance of the conservatorship will help solidify an extension of their current arrangement. While Britney obviously isn't thrilled about the c-ship, we know she'd do anything to be with her boys, so this is the most likely bet.

ANOTHER TOUR

One of the main reasons the conservatorship was extended last year was because Britney wasn't able to get insurance for her Circus tour without it. Britney busted her butt to get back in shape, but once she hit the stage it became pretty clear to everyone that she was climbing her way back to the top. Britney wrapped up the Australian leg of her tour late last month, so perhaps she's giving herself a little break before cranking out another album and hitting the road in early 2010?

BRITNEY'S STILL GOT A SCREW LOOSE

Well, we doubt Britney fantasizes about racing around Hollywood sans panties with a pink wig on her shaved head, but it's entirely possible that the judge and Brit's handlers are concerned that the pop princess might go bananas again if she's cut loose. Perhaps they're erring on the side of caution and using 2010 as a year to determine whether or not Britney can truly handle being on her own?

Hmmm...Britney appeared to be in a bad mood yesterday...maybe she had just gotten the news?

This is a tough call!

So, we all know what happened - Paula Abdul's contract for American Idol wasn't renewed due to salary disputes... but it seems like the creators were actually angling for Ellen DeGeneres to replace her the whole time!

And on the one hand, everybody loves Ellen, the former stand-up turned talk show host. She might not have a musical background, but she certainly is sweet!

But what about poor Paula? She's half the reason people like watching the show! Who's gonna act all gushy slash spaced out now???

And it looks like she's all smiles! Retail therapy is the best kind.

So Christina Aguilera was involved in a minor car accident last night - her assistant hit the car in front of them driving at a slow speed - but that didn't stop the pop star from going shopping in Bev Hills afterward! Nothing can bring X-tina's spirits down... especially during the holidays!
