Last night Vanessa Minnillo and Nick Lachey celebrated their mutual birthdays at Il Cielo, and it looks like they had a fabulous time! An X17 photographer on the scene tells X17online exclusively, "Nick and Vanessa were a bit shy when they left the restaurant, but you could tell they were still very much in love with each other. I guess that break they took earlier this year only made them stronger!"

Robert J. Halderman, the producer suspected of blackmailing Letterman for $2 million to keep the TV host's affairs with co-workers quiet, is expected to ask a court to drop the extortion case against him today.

Lawyers for Halderman tell Access Hollywood that they're challenging whether or not the evidence is sufficient and will ask the judge to dismiss the case.

Halderman has pleaded not guilty to first-degree grand larceny. He could face up to 15 years in prison if convicted.

Jennifer Garner got in a little retail therapy yesterday before she returned to mommy duty, picking up some threads at Lucky Jeans in Santa Monica. And thank goodness she did, otherwise she may drown in grey wool!

Michael Lohan has released yet another set of phone recordings, and in the latest one, mom Dina talks about Lindsay's relationships with Heather Ledger and Samantha Ronson, her drinking and drug use, as well as her concerns that her daughter will end up just like Heath.

On how Heath's death affected Lindsay:

"She is and which direction she's going and right now by starting to drink vodka and sh*t again, it's not the right direction. Because when she's drunk or takes an Adderall with it she will do something like Heath Ledger did in a second without thinking ... And she was dating Heath when he died, I don't know if you know that, but I know cause I would drop her off and they were friends very, very close, ok? So that f*cked her up, and right after that is when Samantha was around."

On Lindsay's relationship with Samantha:

"No, Samantha's a baby herself. Samantha's going to be 31 years old, she's not so young. Lindsay's 22, she almost has nine years of experience on her. That's a lot. it's not that it's just a companion. It's so she doesn't have to be alone. She cannot be alone ... but Lindsay has to realize okay, maybe Samantha's not getting it, if it's not working I walk away. On Lindsay getting behind the wheel:

Dina also talks about Jenni Muro, Lindsay's former assistant/manager who told Michael that she was doing everything she could to save Lindsay. Dina says:
