Spears was just out to the movies -- for the second day in a row -- with Sean and Jayden. Yesterday's flick was Where The Wild Things Are, today -- Astroboy!

It happens to the best of us ... Mrs. Simpson-Wentz has been cut from Melrose Place, according to Entertainment Weekly. We caught her out shopping yesterday and she didn't seem too troubled by the news. In fact, her co-star Colin Egglesfield was also let go. The show's executive producer Todd Slavkin told the Weekly it was always "... the original plan going into the development of the show. We felt that once the murder mystery [involving their characters] was resolved, the tone of the show was going to shift ... and [Simpson-Wentz's] character would move on."

But there's good news for Heather Locklear who has just returned to the show -- Slavkin told EW Locklear is "... in every episode moving forward. She's a major focus [of the show]."

Still, the series just got an order for 5 more episodes rather than for another entire season. With quick-to-fail series like The Beautiful Life, is the CW hesitant to commit? And why might that be? Because the script is so incredibly sucky? I mean really, I love trashy soaps but Melrose Place is so beyond anything even remotely watchable. I preferred Mischa!

At least four women were arrested today in connection with the break-ins of Lindsay Lohan's and Audrina Patridge's homes.

Rachel J. Lee, 19, is also under investigation in the case of $2 million in jewelry stolen from Paris Hilton's home last year. The names of those arrested today have not been released.

LA scenester Nick Prugo was officially charged in the Lohan and Patridge robberies just days ago.
