Katherine Jackson has filed a Petition for Appointment of Guardian of Minors with the Los Angeles Superior Court, X17online has learned.

The petition asks that Katherine be appointed guardian of Michael Joseph Jackson, Jr., Paris-Michael Katherine Jackson and Prince Michael Jackson, II.

The petition states the children have "no relationship with their biological mother," Debbie Rowe.

No mother is listed for Jackson's youngest son, Prince a.k.a "Blanket."

"Minor children are currently residing with paterna grandmother. They have a long-established relationship with paternal grandmother and are comfortable in her care," the petition says.

UPDATE: The AP reports that the court has granted Katherine temporary guardianship. A hearing to determine whether or not it will become permanent will take place August 3rd.

Michael Jackson was warm to the touch and had a faint pulse when paramedics arrived at his Holmby Hills mansion, according to documents offered to X17online.

Although he had stopped breathing, Jackson's heart was still beating when a private physician began efforts to resuscitate the pop star.

"He just happened to find him in his bed, and he wasn't breathing," an attorney for Dr. Conrad Murray told the Associated Press. "Mr. Jackson was still warm and had a pulse."

The attorney also denied that his client prescribed or administered Demerol or Oxycontin to Jackson.

Paramedics were called to Jackson's mansion while the doctor performed CPR. In total, more than two hours was spent trying to save the singer.

Jackson was pronounced dead after being transported to UCLA Medical Center.

The three children Michael left behind, Prince Michael, Paris and Prince Michael II, have been in the custody of their grandmother since the singer's untimely death, and today Katherine Jackson will go to court to seek legal custody of her grandchildren, reports the AP.

Legal experts agree that Debbie Rowe, Jackson's ex-wife and the mother of Prince Michael and Paris, has the most legitimate shot at custody of her children (who are reportedly the result of artificial insemination with an anonymous sperm donor) - if she wants it. And even though she's retained her parental rights, she would still have to undergo an evaluation to determine whether or not she's the best person to care for the kids.

But Debbie has yet to make her intentions known. So far, the only thing Rowe's said on the matter, through her attorney, Marta Almli, is: "Ms. Rowe’s only thoughts at this time have been regarding the devastating loss Michael’s family has suffered. Ms. Rowe requests that Michael’s family, and particularly the children, be spared such harmful, sensationalist speculation and that they be able to say goodbye to their loved one in peace.”

The mother of Jackson's youngest, Prince Michael II, remains a mystery and splitting up the children may also be a consideration for the court.

Additionally the three kids' godfather, British actor Mark Lester may also petition for custody.

Other reports claim Michael wanted his longtime nanny (who was recently fired), Grace Rwaramba, to have custody of the three kids if something were to happen to him.

Attorney Gloria Allred, who is not involved in this case, says that "If [Michael] did indicate a preference, that will be given great weight, but that will not be determinative. Children are not property, they cannot be willed to another person."

Michael's wishes on the matter aren't clear, but the family has indicated they'd put up a fight to keep the children with their grandmother, who is 79.

Even more details have emerged about Michael Jackson's condition at the time of his death, and The Sun reports that the singer was "a virtual skeleton" and his hips, thighs and shoulders were covered with needle wounds, believed to be the result of injections of narcotic painkillers, given three times a day for years.

The Sun claims that the reportedly anorexic Jackson had been eating just one small meal a day, and pathologists found his stomach empty aside from the partially-dissolved pills he took before the lethal painkiller injection that stopped his heart. Jackson's bald head was covered up with a wig when he died, and the pop legend also suffered several broken ribs as rescuers pumped his chest after he suffered cardiac arrest. Four injection sites were found above or near to his heart, which are believed to be attempts to pump adrenaline directly into the organ in a failed attempt to restart it.

The Sun also reports that the autopsy also found unexplained bruising on Jackson’s knees and on the fronts of both shins, as well as cuts on his back, indicating a recent fall. Not surprisingly, Jackson's face was covered in plastic surgery scars, and right side of his nose was partially collapsed. Sources also added that prescriptions for drugs for patients other than Jackson were found at his home, and those patients will be questioned by the authorities.

A source close to the Jackson entourage told The Sun:

"Michael’s family and fans will be horrified when they realise the appalling state he was in. He was skin and bone, his hair had fallen out and had been eating nothing but pills when he died. Injection marks all over his body and the disfigurement caused by years of plastic surgery show he’d been in terminal decline for years. His doctors and the hangers-on stood by as he self-destructed. Somebody is going to have to pay."

UPDATE:
The Los Angeles County Coroner's Office insists that The Sun's reporting is "totally false." Assistant Chief Ed Winter released the following statement:

"The report that is being published did not come from our office. I don't know where that information came from, or who that information came from. It is not accurate. Some of it is totally false."
