And if you watched the season premiere last night, you can kinda tell!

Gatecrasher reports that although what's being billed as "Lauren's last season of The Hills" just started, Lauren's contract expired in March and she's happy to be done with it.

“Now that she’s finished out her contract, Lauren is completely done with the show,” a source tells the paper. “She’s already capitalized on her success — she’s taken this ride as far as she can.”

But how will the season play out if Lauren's not shooting anymore? With episodes typically airing within a month of the action, the source says that producers have already asked Lauren to "react" to a multitude of situations in preparation for the upcoming season.

“The producers would make Lauren react to a lot of potential scenarios, because they’re not yet sure how the finale will play out with the other characters. They would literally give her directions like, ‘Now react to Stephanie Pratt being pregnant!’ Lauren would just giggle and go for it. She also had to pretend to react to a fake story line about Audrina and Brody hooking up,” says the insider.

MTV denies anything being "fake" about the show, of course, but from last night's acting 101 scene on the booze cruise we're not too sure. Course the fight between Spencer and Cameron seemed all real, though, right?

Speaking of drama queens, there are of course some cast members who aren't so heartbroken over Lauren's departure.

“We don’t need her,” Heidi said. “We’ll miss her — I just don’t know if we need her. I know she hasn’t been wanting to be doing this for a while, and [the life she really leads] is not on camera. So I think it’s a closing chapter for her. [Lauren’s] gotta leave the dramas to the pros!”

But could the show really survive without it's star? That's a question MTV will most likely attempt to answer with season 6!

Michael Lohan gave X17online and exclusive comment about Lindsay's tumultuous breakup, how she's feeling now, and, of course, Dina's role in his daughter's downfall.

From what I know from my conversations with Linds, she loves Sam but it is over.

As for Dina, she does nothing but take care of herself. Linds says that she is more of a mother to Dina than Dina to her. IF Dina would put ALL the kids first, instead of her own self interests and her own family, most of this would not have happened. It's about time Dina holds herself accountable and admits her wrongs. SHE single handedly is ultimately responsible for destroying Lindsay's career and her well being. Turning her head in order to please Lindsay and stay on her good side was not and is not the answer. She knows that LINDSAY AND THE KIDS RELIED ON ME and I was the strength, but she couldn't give up control or her pride.

It's a shame But now FINALLY Lindsay will get on with her life and career and put them both back where God wants and Lindsay deserves. She is a good person with a wonderful heart. HURT BUT NOT BROKEN.

Although since, according to Michael, Dina is more of a child than Lindsay, we're wondering if having her mom by her side during her troubled time is really the best thing for Linds?

SamRo's mother and sister have requested information about getting a restraining order against Sam's ex, Lindsay Lohan, X17online has confirmed with the Beverly Hills Police Department.

Even a week and a half ago, the couple were showing signs of strain when we caught them returning to Samantha's house at 3 am after a night at the club.

The relationship has been tumultuous with a signs of a big breakdown on the horizon last month when Sam ran off to Vegas without Lindsay for one of her gigs. Lilo followed her out there and a huge fight ensued ...

Then, three days later, a warrant was issued for Lindsay's arrest because she drove herself home from Vegas after the big blowout.

The very next day on March 14, police were called to Samantha's house after the couple fought and SOMEONE threw something through a window!

On March 19, X17online reported exclusively that the couple was fighting again, inside Sam's Hollywood Hills home late at night ...

Just five days later - another blowout - this time about an alleged infidelity.

On March 27, X17online reported XCLUSIVELY that sources were abuzz with breakup news, saying Lindsay was "so over" Sam.

Then last Saturday seemed to be the last straw ... Sam had Lindsay banned from her sister Charlotte's party at Bar Chateau. Obviously SOMETHING had gone down between Sam and Lilo before the party and perhaps it was then that Charlotte and her mom sought info about a restraining order?

The next day Sam had locksmiths at her house to change the locks to KEEP LINDSAY OUT!

And it seems as if Lindsay and her fam knew something was going down with Sam's fam, 'cause they told us on camera Sunday night to "go follow the Ronsons."

Then news yesterday that Lindsay had confirmed the breakup - as if we need official confirmation!

Are they or aren't they? Not that there's anything wrong with it!
