Shia LaBeouf says he hasn't had a drink in almost a year -- and it shows.

In a new interview with Variety, the unruly actor got candid about alcohol and how it's affected his career.

Shia, who is currently filming a movie about John McEnroe in Prague, said, "I don't think I'd be working with the directors I've been working with if I had not f–ked up a bit."

He said that his unsavory and unpredictable behavior has helped him land the roles he currently has: "They wanted a f–king fireball. They wanted a loose cannon. I'm learning how to distill my 'crazy' into something manageable, that I can shape and deliver on the day."

When asked if he was worried his drunken incident that he caused while watching Cabaret on Broadway was going to affect his career, he said, “I had people tell me it was going to,” he says. “People I respected — dudes I wanted to work with — just looked me in the eyes and said, ‘Life’s too short for this sh-t.’ I’m still earning my way back. I’m happy working.”

As for his alcohol -- the former Disney star says he hasn't had a drink in almost a year and that he has attended AA meetings.
He admitted drinking just brings up his issues, "I got a Napoleonic complex. I start drinking and I feel smaller than I am, and I get louder than I should. It's just not for me, dude."

The star said, "Alcohol or any of that si-t will send you haywire … I can't f–k with none of it. I've got to keep my head low."

He declared, "I never knew how to drink. I never liked to drink, but I knew you had to drink. It was a weird post-modern fascination with the f–k-ups. When I met Robert Downey Jr., I was like, ‘Man, you got all this f–king texture. How do I do this? How do I build texture?'"

Well we know that Downey Jr. is sober -- so we have a feeling that helps! In addition to staying off the sauce, the 30-year-old is engaged to British model Mia Goth.

Shia also starts in American Honey, which debuted at Cannes in May and plays at the Toronto Film Festival this week. In the movie, which opens in theaters on Sept. 30, Shia stars as the leader of a gang of nomad thieves and misfit kids, who sell magazine subscriptions on a cross-country road trip. The actor has gotten rave reviews for his performance. Keep it up, Shia!

Ellie Goulding and Calvin Harris are friends who have collaborated on two hit songs, but they seemed to get their flirt on a bit last night, joking around at the GQ Men Of The Year Awards at London's Tate Modern on Tuesday night, just hours after news broke that Calvin's ex Taylor Swift had split with boyfriend Tom Hiddleston.

The 32-year-old DJ took to Snapchat to film his pal at the event and joked, "We just had a massive fight at the GQ Awards, and we’ve fallen out and it’s horrible and awkward as f**k."

Calvin, who was honored as Patron Solo Artist of the Year, seemed to be having a blast, probably gloating that things have fizzled with his former flame and her rebound beau.

Ellie also must have a bit of an odd night -- her ex-boyfriend Dougie Poynter, who arrived with not one but two dates, was also at the event.

Calvin has recently been linked to Mexican actress Eiza GOnzalez, but maybe friendship with Ellie has been set on fire? That would be a super cute couple if you ask us!

Interesting enough, Ellie is the one who set up Calvin and Tay back in the day. Previously, the "Burn" songstress told The Sun, "I did play matchmaker, that’s true."

"Calvin is a really great mate and he’s so fantastic, and Taylor is such a cool person who I love. I thought, "They’re both really awesome and both really tall, they’ll brilliant together."'

Not so much!

Meanwhile, Calvin spoke about his break up and the aftermath to GQ in the latest issue. He told the mag, "It's very difficult when something I consider so personal plays out very publicly." The music man added, "The aftermath of the relationship was way more heavily publicized than the relationship itself."

Although the two have been at odds since the split, Calvin did say that they two very careful about their relationship while it lasted and that, "She respected my feelings in that sense. I'm not good at being a celebrity."

He lamented, "But when it ended, all hell broke loose."

The DJ did speak about his Twitter barbs aimed at his ex, "Now I see that Twitter thing as a result of me succumbing to pressure ... It took me a minute to realize that none of that matters. I'm a positive guy."

Calvin did say something that had to happen, "For both of us it was the wrong situation. It clearly wasn't right, so it ended."

Yes -- it did.

Zendaya has once again alleged she's the victim of racism.

The actress claims that a clerk at Vons supermarket refused to sell her $400 in gift cards when she tried to buy them on Tuesday night.

The Spider-Man: Homecoming star said on Snapchat, "The lady that was helping us... I don't think she was a huge fan of our skin tone."

Zendaya alleges that the checkout clerk said she couldn't afford the gift cards, and even threw her wallet, causing all her cards to fall out. Ouch!

She told the camera, "I can't make this s--- up!" Zendaya also added, "'You can't afford this,' is how she looked at me ... It was $400!"

So the worker didn't actually say Zendaya can't afford this? She merely looked like she did? Isn't that what Lena Dunham did to Odell Beckham Jr. last week? Assumed things about him based on impressions not facts? Hmmm ....

The actress says that eventually a manager helped her with the purchase. Reps for the chain have not commented on the incident.

Turns out they don't want to cut ties.

Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez have decided to work on their marriage and call off the divorce, TMZ reports. A clerk in the divorce court sent the couple a legal notice stating that they either need to take the steps to move forward in dissolving their union, or the case would be dismissed.

Sources close to both the actress and the actor revealed that neither of them want to go through with it. There are a variety of reasons they're motivated to stick it out.

Firstly, they've been getting along great. Secondly, the Oscar winner thinks the hot tempered Frenchman can improve on his anger issues. Thirdly, they are both heavily involved in parenting son Maceo, 3, and her Nahla, 8.

If she decides to ditch him down the road, we'll take him!

Renee Zellweger and costars Patrick Dempsey and Colin Firth walked the red carpet at last night's Bridget Jones's Baby premiere in Paris, and they look almost as excited as us for their film to hit theaters. The flick is receiving rave reviews, which is also probably contributing to their great moods.

The actress stunned in a bright red Carolina Herrara dress, which she paired with matching heels. She's gotten a lot of Internet bullying this year over her reported plastic surgery, but we think she looks the exact same as she did years ago. We don't get why everyone thinks he looks so different!

This time around, Bridget has her life more in order, but her world is turned upside down when she falls pregnant and isn't sure whether the father is Mark Darcy (Firth) or American Jack Qwant (Dempsey).

This is going to be a box office smash!

Britney Spears has settled with her ex "manager" Sam Lutfi after the controversial personality filed a a defamation lawsuit against the pop princess and her family in 2009.

TMZ has reported that Lutfi received a settlement in the "low six figures," however a source tells x17online exclusively, that the settlement was actually seven figures, more than four times than what TMZ reported. So that means: "manager" or no "mangaer" -- Lufti's a millionaire now, folks!

Lutfi, who was recently accused of kidnapping and robbing Frances Bean Cobain's estranged husband Isaiah Silva, alleges that Spears owed him money from back in 2007 when he claims that the troubled star made an oral agreement that he would be her manager. Lutfi also accused Britney's mother, Lynn Spears, of libel and her father, Jamie Spears, of battery.

In 2012, a judge dismissed the case, but Lutfi appealed and a new trial set was set to begin on Oct. 11.

Back in 2011, the fact that Spears is under conservatorship shielded her from testifying in the case. However, when the lawsuit went to the Court of Appeals, the pop star was called to testify for a deposition despite initial claims that she could not be in the same room as Lutfi because it would pose "serious risks" to her.

Despite the risk, Spears did testify in May and according to the New York Times that Spears did indeed testify "without incident in Lutfi's presence, even snacking on a cookie during a down moment."

It looks like Spears did not want to take the issue to trial and likely used her Vegas residency cash to quiet the money-hungry "manager."

Blac Chyna's got the blues!

The pregnant personality flaunted a new blue 'do as was out on the town in Los Angeles. We aren't sure if it's a wig or a dye job -- but we're sure we will seeing her showing off the blue hue on Instagram and Snapchat any minute!

The blue-haired 28-year-old took her son King Cairo and some pals to dinner at Benihana. That wee one is such a little cutie!

Earlier in the day, the soon-to-be mom stopped in her Range Rover to get a tire repaired earlier in the day.

Despite being a controversial figure in the Kardashian family, Khloe has recently said on an episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians that she's "grateful" to the model for bringing her brother back into the fold after Chyna to Khloe’s 32nd birthday party at Dave & Busters back in June.

It looks like Chyna is pretty grateful she's being taken care of!

Kylie Jenner flew all the way to NYC to catch brother-in-law Kanye West's concert with the rest of her famous fam last night, and she used the occasion to show off her new platinum blonde hair, which she paired with a scarlett red ensemble. Who cares if Kim did it first, because Ky did it better!

Yeezy's show brought out all the "It" crowd, including Kimmy K, Scott Disick, Kendall Jenner, Hailey Baldwin, Ariana Grande, and Bella Hadid. Oh, the plastic surgery princess' loser boyfriend Tyga was there too. The whole crew took turns Snapchatting the festivities, and it made us wish we were part of their squad.

We wonder how long the LipKit queen will keep her lighter locks? If we had a say, we think she should keep it forever!
