Babies were everywhere this year, but a few celebs delivered quite a shock when we found out that they were expecting!

Nicole Richie was already mom to adorable barely one-year-old Harlow when she broke the news back in February that she was pregnant with her second. Since Harlow was such an unexpected surprise, we were caught off guard with the news she and Joel had planned for another one so soon!

Rebecca Gayheart's happy news was completely eclipsed by the naked tape scandal that broke just days before we broke the news that she was preggers. After watching that tape, a pregnancy was the last thing we were expecting!

And last but certainly not least, the only people who were more surprised than us by Kourtney Kardashian's baby news, were, well, the Kardashians themselves!

But whose bump shocked you the most?

We already knew the American Idol judge was planning on bringing The X Factor to the states, and now his business partner Philip Green has confirmed the two have plans to take the show to Sin City!

In the latest issue of GQ UK, Green says, “The plan is to take it to Vegas … We’ll have a permanent place. The home of The X Factor - live from Vegas ... It’ll all be online. You have 20, 30, 40 million people tuning in twice a week. You bring two or three hundred million viewers to a venue. It’s turning it up a peg.”

Reuters reports that the tentative plan is to have two shows per week, which would be broadcast globally via Web-based pay-per-view.

Poor Jessica Simpson has had a bit of an annus horribilis (thank you, Queen Elizabeth), so we're so happy to see her out in NYC enjoying life and supporting her sister's latest career choice.

Jessica dined with Ashlee in NYC last night and she kept it country casual with a pair of boots (her own brand, perhaps?), slim jeans and an ivory sweater. How very J. Crew of her! And I totally mean that as a compliment - she looks great!

Lady GaGa graces the January 2010 cover of Elle magazine, and not only does she look totally amaze, but she reveals that she has some totally human desires and goals.

When asked about her romantic future, GaGa responded:

“In eight to 10 years, I want to have babies for my Dad to hold, grandkids. And I want to have a husband who loves and supports me, just the way anyone else does. I would never leave my career for a man right now, and I would never follow a man around.”

On using her sexuality:

“My album covers are not sexual at all, which was an issue at my record label. I fought for months, and I cried at meetings. They didn’t think the photos were commercial enough…The last thing a young woman needs is another picture of a sexy pop star writhing in sand, covered in grease, touching herself.”

Is it just us, or has GaGa totally been toning it down in her interviews lately? She came across as very humble when she chatted with Jay Leno, and even though her performances and outfits are still something from another planet, it sure seems like she's had some media training. Is she doing this all on her own, or is she feeling the pressure from her management team to appeal a wider audience?

The 28-year-old starlet of the upcoming Brothers has a lot to say in the latest issue of Marie Claire!

Natalie, who once turned down an offer to play Lolita, admits that she "didn't really go to high school parties," adding that she also "didn't touch pot 'til I was in my 20s."

Oh and what about drinking? "I didn't get flat-out drunk until I went to college... but I think that's a good thing in many ways." (Portman received her psychology degree from Harvard University.)

She also addresses those Sean Penn make-out rumors, explaining that she was caught in "this sh*tty rumor brigade. You can't win. You don't say anything and everyone's like, 'it's true.' You say something, and you're keeping the story alive."

Hmm, that's not really a denial though, Nat!

Yesterday Lindsay Lohan tweeted at John Mayer, "@johncmayer shhhhhhhhhhhhhh butter-face :)" and it looks like we've discovered the story behind her cryptic tweet. According to Gatecrasher, John played relationship counselor at Butter in NYC the other night, and it looks like he may have actually helped patch things up between the ladies!

A source tells Gatecrasher, "Lindsay and Sam didn't arrive together. Lindsay walked in, and the two said a quick hello, but then Linds went to the table where John was sitting." While Sam eventually came over to the table, she sat far away on the opposite side. "Lindsay looked upset that Sam hadn't come over to her, and she started whispering to John, who looked like he was trying to calm her down," says the eyewitness. "She looked pretty angry. Then John got up and went to talk to Sam."

So what happened next? Sam and John went over to Lindsay and the girls spent most of the night chatting and laughing, just like old times! We'd love to know what John had to say...it sounds like he really knows women! Er, has a lot of experience with them?

"Lindsay seemed happier than she has in ages," the spy added. "Sam eventually got up and deejayed for a while, and Lindsay kept standing up and looking over to the deejay booth, smiling ... Lindsay and Sam both stayed past 3. They didn't leave together, but they definitely ended the night on good terms."

Awww, we just hope Lindsay doesn't confuse this friendly gesture with a romantic invitation...after all, Sam's totally over Lindsay, right?

Don't panic kids, there's going to be a Breaking Dawn film, but it looks like the execs at Summit Entertainment still haven't decided whether or not they want to split it up into two pictures.

According to Variety, Summit has commissioned Melissa Rosenberg to finish writing the series (she's already adapted Twilight, New Moon and Eclipse for the big screen), but the production company hasn't yet told her if she'll be writing one script or two.

Multiple sources have said that Summit does want to move forward with splitting the Twilight finale in two, but this means they'll have to re-open negotiations with author Stephenie Meyer and make new deals with the principal cast. If Breaking Dawn becomes two films, all of the main cast members will get significant raises, and Rob Pattinson, Kristin Stewart and Taylor Lautner could land eight-figure paydays. Yes, really!

Though two separate films would be most costly, it would also mean more Robsten, so we're all for it!

I guess his new I Am King fragrance isn't doing as well as he'd hoped, cuz Diddy took the Cindy Crawford and Cher infomercial route on the channel, where he pulled out some sales gems like "This is not a celebrity fragrance. This is a designer luxury fragrance," said Diddy. "I went into the fragrance lab and designed this to a particular taste level. I have a very sensitive nose."
